Annabelle soundtrack analysis!
The tone of the soundtrack is exaggeratedly deep toned with high levels of deep sounded instruments such as the cello and a violin played in the background giving the soundtrack a scary, moody and intense atmosphere. Moreover, the pace of the soundtrack moves very slowly as it emphasis on each sound played and each duration of sound lasts for a long time which concentrates on the dingy hollow music which focuses the audience in and interests them. This soundtrack sounds extremely opening and automatically attracts the audiences attention on the opening of the movie as it creates chills and frights due to the atmosphere created of the sound as it seems like emerging footsteps and feels like something is creeping up and haunting the audience. the sound of the music is harsh which connotes what is happening in the movie as it is portraying the doll while playing the music, this shows how the doll is the main problem in the film and connotes danger which suggests that the doll is the root the disaster and main plot in the horror film! The soundtrack is played over the beginning of the scene where it shows the people telling the story about the doll "Annabelle" as they are informing us how Annabelle is dangerous the non diagetic sound is playing over and the camera switches to show Annabelle's face in deep focus as the camera keeps on zooming into the terrifying doll face. The music level turns high and intense when the camera emerges moves closer and closer to show the doll from up and down showing Annabelle's dress towards her hair. The music in the background indicates how the audience should be aware of the of the doll and shows how the doll caused pain and horror on the families life as they are illustrating what happened to them due to buying the doll. The scene straight away sets the mood of a horror film as it sound displays horrific thoughts jumping into the audiences head as the camera work keeps switching to the family narrating the story back to the root of the problem the doll, this soundtrack also repeats itself ongoing to the movie as it try's to indicate to the audience that this sound is dedicated towards the doll making the audience freak out!
